In a surprising turn of events, the ANC’s National Coronavirus Command Council have decided to lift the ban on both cigarettes & alcohol. This is also fake news. Everything still sucks, and if you shared this article without reading the actual contents of the article or checking the facts, then you are part of the problem.
21 July, 2020 Update (The day after publishing this article):
I posted this article to my website as an experiment. I used a headline that I knew was going to get an emotional response. The experiment played out more interestingly than expected. The article got so much traffic that it crashed my website. Had my website been monetised, I would’ve made a pretty penny.
Fake news is big business.
I’m sorry if this hit a nerve with anyone directly affected by the cigarette & alcohol ban. I know it’s tough. 90% of my income came from performing at events that relied on the sale of alcohol and/or sponsorship of alcohol brands. That has all disappeared, but I understand there are other people with bigger problems than mine. I hope you can understand that I’m trying to prove a point, and it’s this:
Every time you share fake news, you are lining the pocket of a troll who just wants to make a quick buck.
