I teamed up with time-lapse photographer I AM Brendon Wainwright to create this video for "Soul Safari", the title track from my new album. The time-lapses were shot across various locations in & around Cape Town over the last 2 years. After watching this, it's clear that Cape Town is the most beautiful & magical city in the world. I'm humbled to call this place home.
Today sees the official release of a brand new music video GAME OF LOVE from our new album, SOUL SAFARI. GAME OF LOVE was written as a sketch by Raiven in February 2016 at Popsicle Studios, after the studio invested in a brand new microphone which needed to be tested. The inspiration for the song came as a stream-of-consciousness – written in 20 minutes – and based on the feelings that one has for someone whom they once loved, but no...

I'm incredibly excited about this collab with Josh Wantie, not only because it's a great song but because it's very different to any other single we've released in the past. Most of our previous singles have been quite upbeat and happy, but this song has a slightly more sombre undertone that will show fans a different side to what we can do. Words from Josh: "Some tracks take a lot of time and work to create, and some just happen naturally in a...
We are very proud to announce the video for our new single "You Say You Love Me" When we filmed the music video for the song, we wanted to create something not only fun & different but also something that would be empowering to the Cape Town LGBT community. Manila von Teez, a popular drag queen and regular performer at a number of Green Point nightclubs in Cape Town, was the perfect star for the video. Along with her two backup dancers...
We got invited to take part in the 5fm Xperia Mashlab in December 2015 & we were paired with an up & coming singer Tresor. After 3 gruelling days in studio we came out the other end with a song we're all very proud of. Guys, TRESOR is a remarkable dude. During the 1994 Rwandan genocide he lost his parents. He fled the Congo in search of a better life & after months of hitch-hiking through Africa he found his way to South Africa. He...
Yesterday, Minister of Higher Education Blade Nzimande said that if students don't accept fee increases he'd start his own #StudentsMustFall campaign & the audacity to laugh about it. We as the youth of SA will not tolerate this, & so I took it upon myself to make a special version of our song "VOETSEK" ft. Blade to expose this nonsense #FeesMustFall Watch original video here: Photo cred: Imraan Christian
On 31 July we were invited to play our full live set on 5fm for their feature show #5LIVE at RedBull Studios in Cape Town. We've done enough shows now to not get nervous anymore, but playing in an empty room while over 200k people are listening in their cars is next level scary & a completely surreal experience. Needless to say my fellow bandmates Rob & Clem kept cool under pressure and played like legends. The RedBull guys made...
We're very proud to announce our new music video for 'Find A Way' ft. Shortstraw. The song is the latest single off our new album KIFF. The video was directed by Brendan Barnes who is also the drummer for popular local rock band CrashCarBurn. We approached him with the idea of a story based idea for a video, but he was keen on keeping the video simple and colourful. I completely trusted his direction, and we're very happy with the result. The...
Over the last 3 years I have written over 40 songs in my studio in Kenilworth, Cape Town. I've decided to choose the 13 songs that would be best suited for an album. The fact that the album is finally out is both excites me and frightens me, but I'm certainly very proud of this achievement. This album was made possible because of the wonderful people that I've managed to surround myself with. I'd first like to thank my God for the gift of...
